Can I Remove Mold Myself? ▾
If the mold only covers a small area, you are safe to try to scrub it off yourself with household chemicals — but ONLY if you wear gloves and a mask.
If the mold covers a large area, you should not attempt to clean it yourself.

What Is the Most Effective Way to Remove Mold? ▾
If the moldy area is small enough that it is safe to clean it yourself (refer to “Can I Remove Mold Myself”), we recommend the mold-killing detergent Fiberlock Shockwave.
This is a strong chemical, and should be used with the utmost caution, and proper ventilation.
For very small patches of mold, however, a regular household cleaner may be enough.
What Are Signs of Mold Sickness? ▾
Signs of mold sickness usually look like allergy or cold symptoms, including but not limited to: congestion, itchy or watery eyes, a persistent cough, or dizziness.
However, those with health conditions may have more severe reactions, including asthma attacks and other serious reactions.

Can You Kill and Remove Mold From a House Permanently? ▾
You can certainly remove visible mold from your property, often by simply removing and replacing whatever material it was growing on.
However, mold spores are always present in the air, indoors and outdoors, just like bacteria and dust. An air purifier can help reduce the amount of mold spores in your air, but it cannot completely remove them.

Mold exposure affects different people with different levels of severity. For some, it can take as little as 24 hours to get sick from mold exposure. But for others, it will look like small symptoms building on each other over weeks or even months.
